#OBS ELGATO HD60 HOW TO#
There is virtually no reason to use any other resolution than 1080p anyways. Today, we’re going to go through the basic steps of how to connect your PS4 to your streaming PC using an Elgato HD60 capture card and OBS/SLOBS software. Change the resolution in the device settings panel instead. Forcing a resolution will result in stuttering and video freezes. To the right, under audio monitoring there are two output options "Monitor and Output" and "Monitor only (Mute output)" Choose the one you need.Find the capture device you just added, it will have the same name as the source in the scene. At the top of OBS Studio, click on Edit, then "Advanced Audio Properties".Add your Elgato Game Capture card by adding a new "Video Capture Device" source. Some of you may want to listen to your console via the capture card running through your PC and OBS Studio. From the "Sample Rate" drop down menu, choose 48khz".In OBS Studio, click on file, then settings. This is a Windows functionality that generally has lower CPU usage and allows software such as OBS Studio to directly control the device. The latter option uses something known as Directshow. OBS Studio by default is 44.1, which means there will be format conversion happening, which can result in audio delays, desync, chipmunk-like audio and other issues. But it is not needed for the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S, Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro, or Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro. The native audio format of the HD60 Pro is 48Khz.OBS-MP is a complete rewrite of OBS, which fixes many low level issues and has better optimizations. I was wondering whether this maybe is some sort of setting problem, or a Bottleneck, or if OBS is just not good enough to record 2560 X 1080 at 60fps and I should spend the extra money for a capture card like the Elgato HD60 Pro.In this short guide, I will cover how to best setup the HD60 Pro in OBS, for maximum quality and low latency.
